John Holt – Mr. Bojangles (Live)

John Holt is a reggae singer and songwriter. Born John Kenneth Holt on July 11, 1947 in Kingston, Jamaica, he was a regular entrant in talent contests at the age of 12. His first single was recorded in 1963 and achieved prominence in his home country as lead singer of The Paragons .

    My favorite rendition of this song is, was, and always will be Sammy Davis Jr. However, John Holt’ version is fantastic. Not only is he phenomenal, but the band is terrific. I came across this accidentally; but the next time I see it, it will not be accidental. What a great way to start a day.
